Philadelphia Energy Solutions is dedicated to managing our business responsibly and ethically.
We take great care to protect the environment and are heavily invested in processes and equipment to assure our plants are environmentally clean.
In addition, we take great steps to ensure the health and safety of our employees, customers, contractors and the communities that host our operations.
The Philadelphia Refining Complex has been part of the Philadelphia community for almost 150 years. Throughout our history, a commitment to the health and well-being of our neighbors has been – and will continue to be – of paramount focus for this facility and its employees, as illustrated below.
Corporate Philanthropy
In our efforts to be good corporate neighbors, we direct our philanthropy to those areas of the community most in need of our outreach. Those areas include civic and economic causes, education, environmental stewardship, health and human services, and arts and culture, plus parks and recreation and other programs for the benefit of children, families, seniors and the elderly.
In addition, we invest in community development agencies throughout South and Southwest Philadelphia. Our focus is to improve the quality of life for our employees and our neighbors. In this spirit, our company financially supports many local nonprofit organizations. PES also makes grants to local schools, charities, community events and community enhancement projects. We strongly support the participation of our employees in community activities.
Our corporate community involvement philosophy is based on the belief that our employees and their families are best able to determine the needs of their own communities. We listen to our employees’ ideas on what contributions we should make and encourage them to make a difference based on their personal involvement.
We are proud of the hundreds of employees who not only reach into their own pockets to assist those less fortunate, but also devote their personal time to the betterment and advancement of their communities. Those efforts represent a variety of interests, ranging from bringing holiday cheer to families in need to community drives for charity and involvement in local civic affairs.
