Mike Hennigan, President and CEO – Sunoco Logistics Partners L.P.
Mike Hennigan was appointed President and CEO of Sunoco Logistics on March 1, 2012. Mr. Hennigan is responsible for all operations and business activities, including setting the direction, strategy and vision for the company.
Mr. Hennigan served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Sunoco Logistics from July 2010 until March 2012. Mr. Hennigan joined Sunoco Logistics as Vice President, Business Development in May 2009.
Prior to joining Sunoco Logistics, Mr. Hennigan served in many executive roles for Sunoco, Inc. In November 2008, Mr. Hennigan was appointed Senior Vice President, Business Improvement. In this role, he led a company-wide effort to improve Sunoco’s cost structure to improve the company’s competitiveness. This included managing an external consulting company, McKinsey Inc., as part of the effort.
In February 2006, Mr. Hennigan was appointed Senior Vice President, Supply, Trading, Sales and Transportation. Mr. Hennigan was responsible for all commercial supply and trading activities involving crude and products, as well as wholesale marketing and transportation operations for the company’s five refineries, with approximately 900,000 barrels a day of crude oil capacity. This included all sales, pricing, inventory and marketing decisions, as well as responsibility for strategic business plans for each product line. In March 2001, he was appointed Vice President, Product Trading, Sales and Supply overseeing the Products organization.
Mr. Hennigan joined Sunoco in 1981 at the Marcus Hook Refinery, working various engineering and operations positions before joining the Business Planning department in 1990. In 1992, he transferred to the Philadelphia Refinery before joining the Corporate Business Planning group in 1993. There, he worked on various strategies for Northeast Refining before returning to Marcus Hook as Business Manager in 1996. In 1998, he returned to the corporate office as Manager, Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning. In September 2000, he was named General Manager, Northeast Refining Wholesale Fuels Marketing and Product Supply.
Mr. Hennigan holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University (1982). A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Hennigan was born July 28, 1959. He and his wife, Christie (Palmer), live in West Chester, PA, with their two children.
